Peacebuilding and conflict transformation

Peacebuilding and the strengthening of social cohesion are key strategic areas of activity for the NGO "Martin-club." In its work, the organization consistently adheres to UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace, and Security," actively promoting the role of women in conflict prevention, addressing the consequences of conflict, and participating in decision-making at both local and national levels. "Martin-club" creates safe spaces for mutual understanding where women—particularly those from among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable groups—become active agents in peacebuilding and the recovery of their communities.

To restore public trust and reduce tension between different social groups, the organization's specialists actively employ modern dialogue-based methodologies. Facilitation processes and local dialogues enable communities to discuss sensitive and contentious issues, develop a shared vision for the future, and build strong interpersonal connections. This helps to overcome stereotypes, reduce social isolation, and foster an environment of mutual support—all of which are fundamental to societal resilience during wartime.

The interactive "Forum Theatre" methodology holds a special place in "Martin-club's" peacebuilding toolkit. It allows participants not only to reflect on pressing social issues and instances of discrimination but also to directly model alternative courses of action and conflict resolution strategies within a safe environment. By engaging the audience in the performance, Forum Theatre becomes an effective tool for fostering empathy, raising civic awareness, and finding practical solutions to strengthen social cohesion.
